no cheese left behind adventure weekend!
a four day foodie adventure in Madison, Wi for single women!
*You are a judger, whiner or not ready to work on your shit. That is the reason why we are here.
*You don’t like swearbears. When I am passionate about something the swearing flies.
And man, I am fucking passionate about this…..see what I did there? 😉
then read on about the fun we are going to have, Hot Pants…
We are taking over downtown Madison, for 4 days/3 nights (June 22nd-25th).
It looks like this. It is between two beautiful lakes and absolutely gorgeous.
If you are from out of town and need a place to stay, we will be staying at the newly renovated Park Hotel on the Capital Square where we can walk to the best restaurants and sites in the city. We actually will not be getting into a vehicle for 4 days. Everything is that nearby!
We are going to have so much fun while you are here. Let me tell you all about it! The weekend is one part smart sessions + one part action with working on how to get yourself out there more + eating amazing food!
The retreat starts at check-in between 3 and 4 pm at the hotel. When you do you will be presented with the best Welcome to Wisconsin gift bag full of our local favorite foods and goodies. It will be epic!
We will be kicking off the weekend right with a Cocktails + Crafts Welcome Party at the amazing Revel Madison where you will get to personalize your very own unicorn craft for the weekend. Yes, I said UNICORN CRAFTS!
We will walk over to dinner at a classic Wisconsin restaurant called The Old Fashioned (yes after the drink, it was started here). This is the best place to start in Madison. I mean, the tagline is “Where Wisconsin is King!” They serve everything that our grandmothers would make in Wisconsin but about 10 times more delicious and locally sourced.
Oh, and they have the best cheese curds in town…
Wait! You don’t know what fried cheese curds are? They are delicious fresh cheese dipped in batter and fried. They are Wisconsin’s gift to the world!
Smart Session #1
Let’s talk about meeting new people. Not where, but how! What are strategies to meet all different kinds of people (friends, dates, etc,) start conversations, make new connections and follow up. If you are not meeting people it sure makes it hard to date, right?
Lunch will be at Graze. Regional cuisine by James Beard award winner Tory Miller. Almost everything on the menu will tell you what farm it is from and the food is amazing. The soft pretzel with 3 different local mustards and cheese is a must!
Smart Session #2
Friday morning we are going to dig into first dates mindsets and strategies. What you need to be looking for and how to make them successful. We are going to create your pocket date questions, discuss smart date ideas, find out the best way to end them and what to do after.
Action Time #1
After session you will have the option to go on a short faux date with my favorite single guy in the area, Jake! You will be video taped to be able to go back and watch your body language and if there is anything you need to work on. I fully realize that this seems like a fresh level of hell, but the takeaways are hugely beneficial to learn how you come off on a first date. This is worth the price of the retreat alone.
This is Jake with his dog, Musa. Isn’t he cute?
Dinner will be later that evening at my favorite small plates restaurant on the square, Graft. This is a great way to share with others and get lots of wonderful tastes. It also has one of the best macaroni and cheese dishes I have ever eaten…
Action Time #2
We are starting the morning off right at the amazing Dane County Farmer’s Market, which is just out the front door of our hotel! It is the largest producer only farmer’s market in the country. You will get to try yummy foods and talk to farmers and cheese makers.
Plus, did I mention that there is a team checklist with fun tasks to accomplish? For fucking awesome prizes? Oh, it also helps you practice talking to people and build confidence. Winner, winner, cheese dinner!
Smart Session #3
We are going to dig into body language basics. Understand how you are carrying yourself, what it is saying about you and what to notice in others. We will get to understand what may have worked on your date with Jake and what didn’t. This shit is genius and life-changing!
We will grab a late brunch at my favorite restaurant, Heritage Tavern! Where James Beard Nominee, Dan Fox, will change your life with the most beautiful fresh food you have ever tasted. You can have the Hazelnut French Toast with Wisconsin Maple Ice Cream or an Old Fashioned Ham Cinnamon Roll. Yes. There is ham…in a cinnamon roll. It makes me tear up thinking about it.
Action Time #3
You will get a few hours off to explore or rest up and then we will walk three blocks over to Shake the Lake! A Madison Music/Food and Fireworks Festival! We will have tickets to the private rooftop party and get to practice some of our new skills with a fun team checklist! We will listen to live music, have the chance to buy dinner and drinks at some of Madison’s best food trucks and just have fun our last night together!
We are going bring ourselves together for a final breakdown of all that we have learned and action steps to implement it. You will get a nifty weekly action plan (with unicorn reward sheets and stickers!) to take home with you, so you know exactly what to do every week to get out there more!

The Dane County airport (MSN) is totally small but kick-ass airport with direct flights to and from New York and other places. Prices are a little more expensive but you can find great deals. If you are staying at the Park Hotel, they have a free shuttle to bring you to the hotel and take you back to the airport when you leave.
The Mitchell Airport (MKE) is about 90 minutes from Madison with bus service to downtown Madison. Once you fly into MKE, you can grab a Badger Bus for about $23 each way to drop you off about a mile from the hotel. A quick Uber/Cab can get you there in about 5 minutes. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to get to downtown Madison from MKE.
This is probably the most affordable option if you live far away, but check Madison/Milwaukee too, you may be surprised. I suggest you fly into O’Hare since it is a little faster to get here. Once you fly into O’Hare there is a bus that leaves for downtown Madison every 60 – 90 minutes for about $30 each way from Van Galder. This bus takes approximately three hours to get to downtown Madison.
